Sunfellow debuted in 2018 with their self-titled EP, with 60’s-era melodies and soul and funk inspired sounds from the 70s. The group was established in 2015 by husband and wife Jeremy and Valerie Swayne, with Marcus Guerra in Bellingham, Washington, and today the band consists of Jeremy and Valerie joined by a rhythm section of Mark McKinney and Joe Pena, with occasional appearances by multi-instrumentalist AJ McKinley. On the songwriting process, the band collectively commented, “Each member is a singer/songwriter, which helps in providing valuable input to create the final product.” Currently, Sunfellow is in the process of recording their first full-length album at Tiny Telephone Studios in San Francisco, scheduled to be released late summer or early fall. Up the Creek welcomes Sun Fellow back for a mid-summer show that should provide fireworks.
