Based in Benicia, Ouch combines thoughtful lyricism, clean indie-rock guitars, and airy synths to create a lo-fi indie pop blend. The group features three guitarists Anders Knutstad, Carson Rendell, and Garret Mingardi, Eleanor Bettencourt on vocals, Evan Jennigs on keys, Max Agas on bass, Atom Ruiz on drums, and Brandon Nelson on electronic blips and bloops. “We look up to many modern bedroom pop artists, as well as acoustic, blues, R&B, and jazz musicians,” commented Knutstad. He and Bettencourt write songs from 800 miles apart while Knutstad attends University of Oregon. “First draft to final song is a two-month process,” he said. The group is still in its early creative stages, but has released two singles, “Endless Lies” and “Tsuki,” in 2019 alone, and released a music video in April. Ouch is releasing four more singles before the end of the year – make sure to catch them while you can live.
